How we vet hair salons on Best Hair Guide

Best Hair Guide is an independent editorial directory. Every hair salon we publish goes through the same multi-step review process, and our guides are written and updated by people with hands-on experience in the hair salons, stylists, braiding specialists, and color experts space.

Last reviewed:

1. Sourcing

We discover hair salons through a combination of local outreach, public licensing data, professional association rosters, and reader recommendations from the United States community. We do not accept payment for inclusion in our editorial guides.

2. Verification

Before a business is added, we confirm that it is currently operating, that the contact details and address resolve, that any required state or local licenses are active, and that the business has a legitimate web presence we can link to. Listings that fail any of these checks are removed.

3. Editorial review

Every guide and listing summary is written by a member of our editorial team and reviewed before publication. Our lead editor is Renee Hollister, Senior Hair Editor (Licensed Cosmetologist & Master Colorist (15+ years bench experience)).

4. Updates & corrections

We re-check every listing on a recurring cadence and update pricing, services, and contact details whenever we hear about a change. If you notice an error, an outdated listing, or a business that should be removed, please email us at editor@besthairguider.com and we will fix it.

We do not currently accept paid inclusion. Some outbound links may use rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow" per Google's guidelines.
